2. Introduce Farewell to Manzanar excerpt. Make a prediction about what you're going to read. Set purpose, preview, and discuss the process for reading it.

Computer lab!
Focus on writing, especially informational writing. Since we started with our grammar mini-lessons, we have seen an increase in the organization of students' essays, writing assessments, and performance tasks. This week we are focusing on your word choice and vocabulary. We will use some technology tools to help us!
We will also explore the wikispace and post at least one entry.
